NASA’s Franken-Algae DHA

Peter Whoriskey (“How millions of cartons of ‘organic’ milk contain an oil brewed in industrial vats of algae,” The Washington Post, Jun. 5, 2017) wrote …

“Inside a South Carolina factory, in industrial vats that stand five stories high, batches of algae are carefully tended, kept warm and fed corn syrup. There the algae, known as Schizochytrium, multiply quickly. The payoff, which comes after processing, is a substance that resembles corn oil. It tastes faintly fishy.

“Marketed as a nutritional enhancement, the oil is added to millions of cartons of organic milk from Horizon, one of the nation’s largest organic brands. Rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, the oil allows Horizon to advertise health benefits and charge a higher price.”

Readers of Atom’s Blog might remember I broke this story over a year before The Washington Post …

The Emperor’s New Clothes (DHA & EPA) — May 2, 2016

I followed it up with other blog entries, including …

Making Babies Prematurely Old — Dec. 2, 2016

<>

But The Washington Post merely looked down the Rabbit Hole.

I dived down the Rabbit Hole.

Horizon Organic Dairy is only the snowflake on the tip of the iceberg.

For example, The Washington Post article mentioned …

“Others, too, had been looking at algae as a way of feeding NASA astronauts in space.”

That statement is a new low in the Limbo Stick Game of Understatement.

<>

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration CREATED the Franken-algae in Horizon Organic Milk — in partnership with Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin).

Martek Biosciences Corporation, spun off from Martin Marietta, is now owned by the Dutch conglomerate Royal DSM.

Do you really believe Schizochytrium limacinum SR21 is NOT a genetically-modified organism?

And guess what? It’s in infant formula and baby foods.

It’s in other foods, including (according to Mommy Nearest) …

“Horizon Organic Milk, Stremicks Heritage Foods Organic Milk, ZenSoy Soy On The Go, Wegman’s Organic Yogurt (Plain & Fruit on the Bottom), Orlando Honey Grain 100% Whole Wheat Bread, Challenge Spreadable Butter, Natures Design Egg Sense Eggs, Omega-3 free range Eggs by Marks and Spencer, Oakdell Farm Omega3 Eggs, Farm Pride Omega 3 Eggs, Gold Circle Farms Eggs, Hidden Villa Liquid Eggs, Horizon Fat Free Milk, Horizon Whole Milk, To Be Healthy Pasta Sauce, Nogurt Yogurt Alternative, Famiglia Chiari Omegaella Mozzarella Cheese, Numa Snacks, Life Balance Flour Tortillas, Minute Maid Enhanced Juices, Oaterenergy Rice Milk, Dempster’s Smart Bread (product of Maple Leaf), Starbuck’s Apple Bran Muffins, Bimbo Bakeries DHA Omega-3 Bread, Purely Bulk Gluten-free Baking Mixes, Silk Soymilk, 8th Continent Soymilk, Tounyu (soymilk) and Toni Vivaly Yogurt.”

<>

According to the Cornucopia Institute …

“DHA algal oil is added to nearly all brands of infant formula, and is often found in other foods and beverages, such as milk and soy milk. It is listed as ‘DHA from algal oil’ and sometimes accompanied by the ‘LifesDHA’ logo.

“Due to a backroom deal between corporate lobbyists and USDA officials, the USDA has looked the other way and failed to take enforcement action against organic food manufacturers that have added DHA algal oil to organic foods and beverages.”

Of course, the worst thing about DHA (from any source), is it’s a major contributor to Yellow Fat Disease.

It’s never too early to start aging a baby.

Re: Will I get all of that [DHA, EPA, etc.] from fish?

That’s like asking, “If I can’t get my mercury from dental fillings, can I get it from eating the mercury in a thermometer?”

Or, “If I can’t get my radioactive fallout from Chernobyl, can I get it from Fukushima?”

We don’t need omega 3 or omega 6 fatty acids from either fish or algae. They are anything but “essential.”

We DO need omega 9 fatty acids since our depot fat is made up of nearly 50% oleic acid, the omega 9 fatty acid in olive oil.

Our body fat is closer to an olive than a cow — 25% of our depot fat is palmitic acid and not even 10% of it is stearic acid.

Don’t be concerned about being confused.

The fish oil and seed oil cartels make billions of ill-gotten dollars a year by making sure you and the greater mass of humanity remain confused.

And 99% of our health gurus — including Dr. Oz, Dr. Mercola, Andrew Weil, Suzanne Somers, Sally Fallon, David Wolfe, and Jack Kruse — are unsuspecting vectors of disinformation — oblivious to Yellow Fat Disease.

This malicious marketing does much more than just pick our pockets. It lops weeks, months, and years off individual lives — death by a thousand paper cuts.

Death from a bullet is immediately evident.

But no one notices the difference between someone dying at 82 instead of living till 85.

And no one realizes that the diseases of so-called “old age” and “genetics” — such as obesity, dementia, and age spots — are entirely avoidable.

Adano Ley (Swami Nitty-Gritty) was scheduled to land at Santa Barbara Airport.

My mother, Jennie, dreamed he arrived wearing a suit.

I said, “Well, he was a tailor, and he made Steve Shiver’s suit for his graduation from chiropractic school, but, in all the time I’ve known him, I’ve never seen him wear a suit.”

Adano disembarked from the plane wearing a suit.

Hi Atom: Just purchased 6 pounds of Horizon organic unsalted butter, churned from organic sweet cream. The ingredients listed are: Organic Grade A Sweet Cream (Milk), Lactic Acid. No mention of omega (anything) on the label. Would you think they are able to put algae in butter as well as milk? Thank – Carole

      It’s almost certainly DHA-free. :)

Most folks have been mesmerized into believing DHA is not a poison and is the greatest thing since sliced bread, so the company would be bragging about DHA on the label — and charging you more money for it too!
