Sunlight & Vitamin D

In 1913, agricultural scientists found that hay dried in direct sunlight fed to goats in indoor cages kept them from developing osteoporosis by increasing their assimilation of calcium.

More and more grains and other food crops were found to do the same.

This was two decades before vitamin D was isolated and named — vitamin D2 in 1932 and vitamin D3 in 1937.

The colloidal casein micelles in cow milk readily absorb vitamin D from sunlight.

Buffalo milk is even more efficient.

Human milk is not that efficient.

Olive oil exposed to direct sunlight “acquires a highly pronounced calcifying effect.”

Constant exposure to sunlight destroys vitamin D.

20 or 30 minutes of sunlight raises vitamin D to its MAXIMUM in olive oil, while 10 hours of constant exposure destroys almost every trace of vitamin D.

Constant exposure to sunlight destroys both the color and the odor of olive oil.

Both sunlight and darkness are necessary for the creation of vitamin D.

Something to ponder …

If a black man gets a skin graft from a white man, will the graft stay black or will it eventually become white?

Conversely, if a white man gets a skin graft from a black man, will the graft stay white or will it eventually become black?
