Healthy Life Idea

According to an old Japanese legend, a father gave his son an extremely valuable knowledge that he has learnt from his own father.

He revealed the secret about a point which can lead to longevity, as it can prevent a hundred diseases. The son followed his father’s advice and regularly massaged this point on his body.

As his father claimed, this practice has helped the son live long enough to see the birth and death of many emperors.

Our body contains 365 points and 12 major meridians, the same in number with the days and months in a year. Acupressure is based on the system of these meridians and channels, and their link to different body organs. Acupressure includes the technique of pressing certain points of the body with the fingers.

Chinese medicine regards the body as an energy system, and the massage of these body points will influence the flow of energy in the body, and it will boost and enhance the function of the body organs.

Today, we will reveal one of the most important body points, called “the point of longevity” in China, and “the point of hundred diseases” by the Japanese.

The massage of this point, Zu San Li, will decelerate the aging process, and it will prevent numerous diseases and protect your health.

Its location is below the kneecap, and it can easily be found. Place your hands on the knees, left hand on left knee, and right hand on right knee, and you will find this point between the ends of your ring finger and the pinky, between the bones.

Another way to locate the Zu San Li point is to strongly press your feet on the ground in front of you, while sitting on the floor. Your heels should remain down. Below your knee, there is a place which is slightly higher, and when you press its highest point, you have found this amazing point.

This point is also called “the point of hundred diseases’, as it literally has the power to help your body combat innumerate issues and health conditions.

Namely, it is responsible for the regulation of the functions of all organs in the lower part of the body. The Zu San Li also controls the spinal cord, which is in charge of the good function of the reproductive system, kidneys, glands, gastrointestinal and digestive tract.

Adrenal glands are essential for the normal functioning of the body and its health, as they release vital hormones, including adrenaline and hydrocortisone, in the bloodstream. Moreover, the massage of the Zu San Li point will also provide beneficial effects in many other cases, such as: constipation, gastritis, urinary incontinence, impotence, hiccups.

Apart from that, this point can be very useful in eliminating anxiety, stress, tension, it will maintain an inner balance and will boost your confidence. The San Li point also has a stimulating effect as well.

This beneficial massage also promotes weight loss. Yet, note that you should do it in the evening in this case, but be very careful. You can lose ½ kg in a week.

The regular massage of this extraordinary Zu San Li point has the following effects as well:

Regulates and boosts the immune system
Prevents inflammation
Glucose and insulin regulation
Boosts digestion
Treat gastrointestinal diseases
Alleviates stroke side effects
Massage of the Zu San Li point- Instructions

Before you begin to massage this point, you need to take some time to relax. It is best to sit while massaging. Inhale deeply and concentrate on your emotional state. This will mark the start of a beautiful healing and spiritual procedure, which will restore the harmony of your body and mind.

You should massage the point with circular movements clockwise for 9 times on each leg. It is recommended that you do this massage in the morning, before having your lunch, as if done before bedtime, it can lead to insomnia. The whole procedure of massaging the Zu San Li point should last for 10 minutes.

The massage should be done either with your fingers, or you can use grain cereals like: buckwheat, oats, rice, and the like, or garlic cloves.

Sulfur 4Cut the garlic clove in half and apply it on this miraculous point, and leave it to act for 2 hours, or until you notice that the skin has become a little red.

The stimulation of this amazing point throughout the whole day can offer numerous positive effects. For instance, if you massage the Zu San Li point clockwise in the morning, 8 days before the New Moon, you will stimulate the immune system, enhance the function of the body organs and rejuvenate the body.

Moreover, if you massage this point just before lunch, you will boost your memory, and improve the general tone, and the health of your cardiovascular and digestive system.

Massage the Zu San Li point after the lunch in order to soothe headaches, eliminate sleeping problems, and to relax, get rid of the anxiety, stress and tension.

In order to lose excess pounds and accelerate your metabolism, you should massage this point on both legs, clockwise, in the evening.

Ah yes, the stomach 36 point, also known as the three-mile point, because to massage it is to have the endurance to go another 3 miles. I’m going to massage this point every day, thanks to you.

One more question: ‘clockwise’ is that seen from your own position, looking down towards your knee?

      • July 17, 2016 @ 10:21 pm Julia

It is the same direction, whether looking down or up, by you, or by someone else massaging you.

What does 8 days before the new moon have to do with anything and what does this monthly timing have to do with acupuncture/acupressure?

    • July 17, 2016 @ 7:13 am Aaron

Dear Laurie, moon cycles have a profound influence on the waters of the earth. Since humans are too made of quite a large volume of water we are simultaneously affected. I suppose that the aim of acupressure is to aid transportation/ circulation of thick or even putrid/stagnant fluids through the body so that the organs can have other opportunities to purify this. The legs tend to be a point of the body in which “heavy” or less clean substance can accumulate due to gravity and a variety of lifestyle choices both conscious and unconscious.
More more and more scienctific information unfolds confirming the cleanliness of vegan digestion/ obsorption and excretion. Gently leaning towards “minimising” of animal products. But I dare say this is due to the majority of foods available are of poor nutritional value due to commercial farming operations, so the need to fill that void is taken from animals. But since the average western person does not really have too much sentiment, time, motivation and or money to seriously walk the walk, the downward spiral of this toxicity makes this not preferred settlement in the legs.

This information is of such immense value! I would really really love to learn more. I practise amateur accupressure /reflexogy and accupressure massage ane the invaluable knowledge would enrich me amazingly.

    • July 17, 2016 @ 5:05 pm Inge

I think the position of the moon has very much to do/say with our bodies?

    • July 17, 2016 @ 11:26 pm Julia

From New Moon to Full (the waxing cycle) the tides rise, or increase.
The opposite is true for the waning cycle, from Full Moon to Dark Moon.
During these cycles, certain effects can be seen to work upon the variable systems of Lifeforms with a high water content, like menstrual and adrenal functions.

Lunar influences have long been followed and observed for the effect they have on seed planting and harvesting. Although a lot of this knowledge has been forgotten, crops grown for fruit were traditionally planted during different Lunar phases than seed or root crops.
This is also true for the best time to shear sheep or cut hair, depending on whether rapid regrowth is desired or not, such as when shaving facial hair.

There are large variations in the length of time that root vegetables, seed crops and hey will keep in storage, based on the time that they were picked.
Within each day, living things are also subject to shorter cycles of influence that are based on the rise and fall of Solar energy. The reason that perfumed flowers are more noticeable just before dusk is because sunset causes the sap to rise in plants.

Healers working with many people over long periods of time have observed the natural effects on the application and performing of treatments at different times. Based on their observations, they deduced the best times for the desired outcomes.

Such a fine understanding of natural phenomena! Thank you

    • July 26, 2017 @ 5:06 pm Pete

Each and every acupuncture point has a celestial concordence. There use can be calculated by the time of day month and season in relationship to the individuals age and time of birth according to the Chinese astrology and calendar. It is a complicated calculation and used by traditional Chinese practitioners specialising in astrological acupuncture

    • July 19, 2016 @ 7:09 pm Sarah

      Hi Gloria;

I recently had tremendous pain there after running – it’s likely tendinitis in your patellar tendon. I saw a physiotherapist for some time and she was able to help me heal and position me for lower chance of future injury. Hopefully this helps and you’re able to narrow what it could be for you.

  5. July 17, 2016 @ 1:30 pm M Ewalani

You need to understand solar and lunar calendars. Its energies are connected to each organic matter. When you plant seeds to become a harvest, you plant accordingly. If your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energies are in balance, then so is your health in response to you being able to acknowledge the concern to address it in good time therefore producing an organic prolonged longevity in your environment. Same concepts applies to all of nature’s cycle. :-)

  6. July 17, 2016 @ 8:00 pm Mady Maguire

This says: “In order to lose excess pounds and accelerate your metabolism, you should massage this point on both legs, clockwise, in the evening.” However, it also says that if you massage this point below the kneecap in the evening that it leads to insomnia. So are we to deduce that if we do this to lose weight–we won’t get any sleep?

    • July 30, 2017 @ 2:15 pm Kalyani

On point there! So funny comment. Made me chuckle :) thanks!
      Laughter is best medicine.

  7. July 17, 2016 @ 11:41 pm Ava

If I do the circles at the same time with both hands, my right hand goes clockwise but my left hand wants to go counterclockwise. Does it have to be clockwise?

    • July 19, 2016 @ 2:47 am Anna M

I concur, Ava. And it’s also much more logical to do it synchronized that way. Feels more natural. Right knee from up, inner, outside movemnet, left knee counter clockwise. Tell me what’s wrong with that.

  8. July 18, 2016 @ 2:17 am Christine

You say, clockwise 9 times… for ten minutes… does that mean each clockwise orbit should take approx 1 minute each?

  9. July 24, 2016 @ 7:12 pm Judy

    Thankyou Patrick.
A very healthy and elderly Aboriginal elder (Queensland, Australia) told me to do that every day. This was many years ago and although I did it a couple of times I didn’t continue. Now I wish I had.
    Many thanks

  10. August 16, 2016 @ 11:24 pm KHORSHED

I am not sure I have the correct point.

  11. September 23, 2016 @ 12:38 pm Katie

A bit confused. Instructions say massage 9 times. Then say massage for 10 minutes. How can 9 little ciockwise massages last 10 minutes?

  12. July 18, 2017 @ 3:42 am Marek

Is that point in the soft area somewhere between the bones?

  13. July 23, 2017 @ 5:55 pm Dani

Is the time of day recommended bad on sleep cycle or sun/moon cycle? I work third shift so I sleep during the day
