Eating For Strength & Muscle #2

We can eat a 100% plant diet or we can eat a 100% animal diet.

We’re said to be biological herbivores, but behavioral omnivores.

Yes, No, Maybe. There are MANY exceptions to the rule. (Aren’t there always?)

Herbivores don’t have claws? What about the koala, an “arboreal herbivorous marsupial native to Australia” that survives on eucalyptus leaves.

Apollo, the Scottish Hercules (William Bankier), extolled plant food.

William Bankier (Ideal Physical Culture, 1900) wrote …

“It is said that cows on the sea-shore may learn to live on fish; that a sheep has been taught to eat beef-steak; and that a horse may be taught to drink whisky and chew tobacco; but none of these things are natural to any of them.

“Experience teaches us that the food best adopted to the human constitution, and that which at the same time is most conducive to health and long life, is derived principally from the vegetable kingdom. Bread has been truly termed the ‘staff of life;’ for in itself it contains all the elements of nutrition, all that is necessary to repair the waste of the system. Amongst foods it justly ranks the highest. Brown bread made of whole wheat is sweeter and more wholesome than white bread.

“Milk, in the shape of good cheese — such as Cheddar, Stilton, Gloucester, and Cheshire — is perhaps the greatest flesh-forming and bone-forming food known; it has nearly twice the amount of nutriment contained in the same weight of cooked meat. Eggs are wholesome and nutritious. Oat-meal, barley-meal, indian-meal, beans, dry peas, green peas, sago, tapioca, potatoes, turnips, carrots, parsnips and so forth, prepared in various ways, all contain flesh-forming and heat-giving qualities. Oat-meal, wheat-meal, and barley-meal contain all the essentials of nutrition in very large proportions; but all are nutritious and easy of digestion, and all are very cheap and pure compared with butcher’s meat. Fish is very nutritious and largely flesh-forming. The flesh of a red-blooded fish, such as salmon, is more nourishing than that of a white-blooded fish, as cod, etc. Fish is perhaps a purer kind of food than butcher’s meat, and is digested in about half the time. Butcher’s meat is the most expensive form of food, and is certainly not the purest or most nourishing, being of much less value as a flesh-former and heat-giver than ordinary cheese; it is nevertheless nutritious. It is more stimulating, and increases the vital action of the whole body, causes a more rapid pulse and a hotter skin than a vegetable diet. Beef is more nourishing than mutton, veal, pork, or lamb, and less is lost in cooking it than mutton or lamb. It is therefore the most economical form of animal food.”

Swami Yogananda was a lacto-ovo vegetarian.

An onlooker thought he was fat. He didn’t say it; he thought it.

Yogananda walked up to him, and said, “Squeeze my arm.”

It was hard as a rock.

J. Donald Walters (Conversations with Yogananda, 2004) wrote …

“‘I once went with Master,’ she [Kamala Silva] said, ‘to the island of Santa Catalina off the coast of southern California. Master was a very fast runner when he was young. For our visit there, a young man accompanied us who was a good athlete. When he heard that Master was a fast runner, he challenged him to a race. The young man himself ran in college competitions. Well, they started out even, but by the time the youth had finished the first block, Master had almost finished the second one!’

“Sananda Ghosh, one of Yogananda’s younger brothers, told me, ‘Paramhansaji had a very unusual style of running, as if slightly angled. But his legs moved like pistons, and he won every race!'”

According to “Raquel Welch Breaks Silence on Car Crash: She says failed marriage almost got her killed in wreck,” Globe, May 17, 2004 …

“Raquel Welch blames her wrecked marriage for causing a horrific car wreck in which she shattered her left arm and was trapped by an airbag for 20 minutes.”

Would 5-7am be a second best time ?

What is it about Kidney Time (5:00-7:00 p.m.) that makes it better in this case than 5-7am (L. Int) which I would have thought to be better ?

Epsom Salt is a Growth Period 2 item.

Large Intestine Time can help prevent a cardiac event.

Kidney Time can help prevent a gall bladder attack (and is better for general cleansing).

Hi Atom, does grape juice clean the small intestines ? If so what is the best time to drink it ?

    • October 9, 2018 @ 6:34 pm Atom

Yes, especially at Small Intestine Time (1:00-3:00 p.m.).

      • October 13, 2018 @ 12:52 pm John

Is there a more exact time between 1-3pm for maximum results ?

        • October 13, 2018 @ 2:40 pm Atom

We’re not set up to do that kind of fine-tuned research yet.

We’re still looking for red-blooded philanthropists to help materialize our teaching and research center.

That stated, my guesstimate is 2:00 p.m. sharp.

Hi Atom, when rubbing olive oil all over your belly area what is the best time of day to do it? How long do you leave it on for ?

    • October 9, 2018 @ 6:36 pm Atom

Anytime of the day or night. Olive oil is neutral.

Keep rubbing until it all soaks in.
